Waiting

Waiting. What do we mean? Most people think of the word delay.

However waiting on the Lord means to hope in Him, trust in Him, to believe His word.

The amplified bible reads: But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him]

Will gain new strength and renew their power;

In addition to these, patiently waiting for God’s time.

God’s timing is not our timing.

2 Peter 3:8

But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Isaiah 55:8-9

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,

Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,

So are My ways higher than your ways,

And My thoughts than your thoughts.

Our thoughts could be carnal, sensual and earthly. We measure success based on the world’s yardstick.

Think of how far heaven is from the earth.

The earth is on a natural realm while heaven is a spiritual place. They are not even on the same pane!

That is how far God’s thoughts are from carnal thoughts.

Waiting on God means first of foremost to be in the spiritual realm.

Romans 8:6-8

For to be [a]carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the [b]carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

The carnal realm is completely opposite to the will of God and cannot receive anything from God.

To wait on God, we must be spiritually minded.

Read Isaiah 40:29-31
